Table 1. Telescope components currently being tested for the Wow!@Home Telescope. These parts are required to assemble a dedicated radio telescope designed to operate continuously (24/7) with its own Raspberry Pi 5 computer. Assembly requires no soldering or drilling, only basic tools such as screwdrivers and wrenches. All parts are available on Amazon, except for the LNA, which is expected to become available in late August or September 2025.
The free software Easy Radio Astronomy (ezRA) allows you to take advantage of this telescope’s capabilities now to observe galactic hydrogen and explore the structure of our galaxy. We are developing a separate program designed to search for radio transient events that can last from seconds to days. This software is still under development.
Disclaimer: This hardware is currently being tested as part of the development of the Wow!@Home telescope. There is no guarantee that it will be the final recommended hardware for our project.
