HEC: Exoplanet Statistics
Last Update: July 2, 2018 [OUTDATED]
Currently Known Exoplanets
Here is a list of the number of confirmed and unconfirmed exoplanets according to the main exoplanet databases. Not all of them list the same number of objects or data depending on their criteria and scope. The PHL' Exoplanets Catalog uses the Extrasolar Planet Encyclopedia with many corrections and additions from other sources.
* number includes some still unconfirmed planets
Summary Statistics
This page has statistics for all known exoplanets from the PHL's Exoplanet Database, which includes both confirmed exoplanets and NASA Kepler candidates. The current number of potentially habitable exoplanets and predicted exomoons are shown in red. Some of these numbers are also represented in the Periodic Table of Exoplanets.
(1) Confirmed exoplanets are those listed by the Extrasolar Planets Encyclopedia plus any corrections and updates.
(2) NASA Kepler Mission exoplanet candidates are those as listed by the NASA Exoplanet Archive.
(3) The number of potentially habitable exoplanets includes some still unconfirmed.
(4) Objects of interest for habitable exomoons are predicted from planetary dynamics, but none observed yet.
