Measurement Errors of Exoplanets

Post date: May 31, 2015 2:25:15 AM

These plots show the measurement errors associated with some planetary and stellar properties of confirmed exoplanets. The mean error values are only valid for the given range and not the same objects are sampled in each plot. These plots were created as part of an assessment of the measurement of errors of the properties of planets in the Habitable Exoplanets Catalog. In general, relevant quantities for habitability assessments (i.e. planet's mass, radius, and flux) have on average a ±20% measurement error (one standard deviation not including any systematic errors). Data from the NASA Exoplanet Archive.
