Statistics from Input Data


HEC analyses two main databases, the Extrasolar Planets Encyclopedia and NASA Kepler Candidates, with some corrections and additions from other sources. Here are the basic statistics (before processing) of some of the most important parameters that are used for the catalog habitability assessments. It shows the minimum, average, and maximum values for each field, including the count (number of exoplanets with data in each field). This analysis is done as a quality control to check for possible outliners and identify those fields that require more data. You can use this data for a quick look into interesting values (i.e. what is the minimum mass of the confirmed exoplanets?).
